Meet Charlotte and Oliver 

Charlotte and Oliver, age 14 are an energetic and active Mother and Son cycling cat sitting team. 

As a local family business, based in Blackheath SE3, we are proud to provide excellent customer and kitty care.  Charlotte is enhanced DBS checked and insured.

At home, we have Tim, an affectionate, elderly rescue cat from the Cats Protection charity.  Oliver and I absolutely loves cats. Oliver is a is kind, trustworthy, polite, and gentle  – your furry friend will be loved and looked after in our care!

When you book Blackheath Whiskers  cat sitting, we are environmentally friendly, cycling to every local cat sitting visit.

As Blackheath’s original cycling cat sitters, we are happily  reducing our carbon footprint rather than driving and getting stuck in traffic.  This means more quality time spent with your cat or kitten. 💚

Charlotte had a paper round as her first job at Oliver’s age and wanted to provide Oliver with an opportunity to combine his passion for caring for cats and learn important skills in running a business. 

The name ‘Blackheath Whiskers’ – was chosen by Oliver.  

Oliver has also been involved in the development of our website, social media and marketing of Blackheath Whiskers.

As animal lovers and advocates of the Cats Protection charity, we decided to donate 50p (62.5p with Gift Aid) at each cat sitting visit.

Before Oliver could even ride, he was already experiencing the joy of cycling – on the back of his mum’s bike! 

As soon as he was big enough, he was zipping around on his scooter, then a balance bike before confidently riding on two wheels. 

Oliver’s love for cycling only grew as he spent countless hours racing on the track at Gravesend Cyclopark. Together, in the summer, we would happily cycle stretches of the coastal Viking Trail, enjoying a much deserved ice-cream en-route.🍦🍦  

When Oliver set a goal to buy his own adult bike in 2024 – every penny he made from cat sitting went into his savings, and soon he had his very own set of wheels!

As a mother-and-son team, we cycle everywhere, offering loving cat care to our community while staying eco-friendly.

Meet Tim 🐱

Tim is our beloved, now elderly rescue cat. Tim and our former rescue cat, Leo had spent time in foster care, surrounded by many other cats in need before they were adopted from Cats Protection.

Tim was adopted when Charlotte was pregnant with Oliver.  He has a metal pin in his leg after surgery (you would never know!) and during pregnancy he sat on her belly and reassuringly at her feet during the onset of labour.

Tim has become more than just a pet; he’s a source of comfort and companionship, especially for Oliver, who, being an only child, found in Tim a loyal friend.  Their bond has only grown stronger over the years.
